James Newton, an 18-year-old Ottawa local and Blyth Academy Online (BAO) student, was named Ontario Junior (U19) Boys' Champion at Whistle Bear Golf Course at the 99th Junior Boys' Golf Championship this summer. James' passion to his sport necessitates a lot of travel and international responsibilities. Balancing athletics and academics as a high school student is only achievable with flexible learning that allows for intensive training and scheduling. James can focus on his athletics while keeping on track in his high school studies as a Blyth Academy Online student. He may study toward his Ontario Secondary School Diploma at his own speed since he can finish a course from anywhere, at any time, with one-click access to instructor help.

"Blyth Academy Online is a fantastic resource. BAO allows me to study while still pursuing my sports training - both to a high quality. The flexible timetable allows me to focus on both my academic studies and top golf training and a hard competition calendar. I like the way I study with BAO, and I appreciate all of the resources they give for students like me. "This year, I've been lucky enough to have a lot of success," James added.

James has joined Team Canada and will play golf for the Men's NCAA Division 1 Golf Team in the Big10 at Rutgers University on a scholarship.

Since 2020, James has finished many BAO courses with an average of more than 85 percent. As a Blyth Academy Online student, Ontario Junior Champion, and part of Team Canada, James will receive his Ontario Secondary School Diploma in 2022.
