As a council member, you can help your student body discover new and exciting ways to contribute to the education and climate of your peers and classmates. Student council plays a pivotal role in the social fabric of our school community. As a council member, you will be responsible for holding yourself to a high standard as a representative of our student body.
Joining the student council can be included on resume and serve to highlight students as strong candidates for post-secondary applications and future career opportunities.
We welcome all students interested in running for student council!
PRIME MINISTER
Responsible for overseeing all duties and responsibilities as outlined below and running the council.
Responsible for acting as one of the school’s leaders to manage a team and promote inclusivity.
Responsible for working in collaboration with the Deputy Prime Minister to reach student body goals.
DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER
Responsible for working in collaboration with the Prime Minister on all matters.
Responsible for serving as the acting Prime Minister when the position is vacant.
MINISTER OF COMMUNICATIONS
Responsible for becoming the London Managing Editor for Blyth Daily News.
Responsible for promoting student life and activities through photographs and video.
MINISTER OF CULTURE
Responsible for developing activity days which follow observances designated by administration.
Responsible for cultivating an inclusive school climate and promoting activities.
MINISTER OF WELLBEING AND SPORT
Responsible for developing sporting activities for students.
Responsible for promoting the overall health and wellness of all students.
COUNCIL MEMBER
(Open to all students)
Responsible for voting on important Student Council matters and being present for all council meetings.
Students do not have to be elected to serve on council.
