We celebrated Terry Fox and Cancer Research today at the Mississauga campus with big hearts and gracious donations. Our students raced, jogged, and walked from the Adamson Estate to AE Crookes Park. We enjoyed snacks, played football, and were educated on the background of this special day, with an address from Mr. Hassan. Thank you to all of our Mississauga families who donated! We raised over $2200 in a very short time.
Terry started the Marathon of Hope, a cross-country race to raise funds for cancer research, in 1980. He intended to raise $1 from each of Canada's 24 million residents. Through the annual Terry Fox Run, hosted across Canada and around the world, nearly $800 million has been raised for cancer research in Terry's honour.
