Returning to school in the COVID-19 era has taken on a whole new meaning for parents and other caregivers, as well as a whole new set of worries. Schools must now balance the intellectual, social, and emotional requirements of children with the health and safety of students and employees as the COVID-19 epidemic continues to evolve.

Practice Social Distancing:

The technique of allowing enough space between persons to minimise the transmission of illness is known as social distancing or physical distancing. To accomplish these aims, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend keeping a distance of at least 6 feet (2 metres) between yourself and persons outside your residence during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Put on a mask

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend wearing a face mask in indoor and outdoor public areas where there is a high risk of COVID-19 transmission, such as at a crowded event, and schools are no exception. This recommendation is based on evidence that persons who have COVID-19 can spread the virus before they even realise they have it.

Hands must be kept clean

Hand-washing should be practised at home with your kid, and you should explain why it's vital to wash his or her hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, especially before and after eating, coughing/sneezing, or adjusting a face mask. To avoid hurrying, wash your hands for as long as it takes you to say "Happy Birthday" twice.

Disinfect and clean

Cleaning and sanitising commonly touched surfaces can help minimise the risk of sickness, whether your kid is educated at home or at school. Doorknobs, faucets, keyboards, tablets, and phones are examples of commonly handled things.

Vaccinations should not be skipped

Ensure that your kid is up to date on all required immunizations, whether courses are held at school or at home. Every season, all school-aged children should obtain a flu vaccination. This season, getting a flu shot is especially crucial because the flu and COVID-19 have similar signs and symptoms. Despite the fact that the flu vaccine does not protect against COVID-19, it can help to lower the risk of the flu and associated consequences. It's another line of defence to keep students from missing school.

We hope everyone had a great summer vacation and see you guys in school!
