Congratulations to our alumni, Ty Nelson, for being ranked 2nd overall in the OHL for the 2022 NHL Draft!!

Ty Nelson is a grade 12 student from the Downsivew campus who is one of our golden hockey players at school. He ranked #20 by CONSOLIDATED RANKING; #22 by FCHOCKEY ; #11 by TSN/CRAIG BUTTON; #21 by DRAFT PROSPECTS HOCKEY.

During a recent interview with the CHL Sunday Spolight, Nelson said "It was a dream come true to be chosen first overall by North Bay. I'm really thrilled to be joining a fantastic company that has a lot of followers and community support. I'm really looking forward to getting started with North Bay."

Nelson is a modern defenceman with high-end puck-moving abilities, as evidenced by his final season with the triple-A Toronto Jr. Canadiens, where he nearly reached point-per-game production in 33 league games, scoring 11 goals and 21 assists to finish third in team scoring and first among rearguards. The Toronto native has a strong career and has achieved international success, winning bronze with Team Canada at the 2020 Youth Olympic Winter Games.
