Blyth Academy London is proud to be working with Women in White Coats at York University (@yorku_wiwc on instagram). This program partners our students with professionals in the fields of sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Girls STEMpowered is a mentorship initiative focused at boosting existing female STEM students in grades 11 and 12. University living, studying techniques, optimising your schedule, combining academic and social life, and more will be covered in this seminar-based curriculum. Our objective is to reach out to high school kids and encourage them to pursue a “difficult” degree, despite the stigma that surrounds it.

For whom are girls powered by STEM?

Mentees

Currently, 11th and 12th STEM students are searching for insights into the lives of the female student who holds a STEM degree from GTA (Greater Toronto Area).

Mentors

Our mentors include students at York University and WiWC members, who presently have a BSc (including Health and Psychology) and are willing to share their expertise with high school students, de-stigmatize and showcase their leadership skills in STEM.
